The Amana Colonies are known for their Festivals
So many German Festivals throughout the year. New ones keep popping up, but these are the regulars.
In case you are confused, or not sure about when the festivals are, I've outlined them in the video and here in this blog.
The Biggies:
Winterfest - January 20, 2024
Maifest - First weekend in May to celebrate the arrival of spring
Wurstfest - June 15-16 - Father's Day weekend. Our newest festival that celebrates all things 'wurst'/sausage
Oktoberfest - First weekend in October
Prelude to Christmas - First Weekend in December. A beautifully decorated time to celebrate the holidays.
The Smaller Ones:
Romance Weekend - Mid-February to celebrate Valentine's Day
Take A Bite - a food festival sometime in April
Colonies in Bloom - last day of June and last day of July - a time to showcase the beautiful flower gardens in the Colonies.
Apfelfest - mid-September
Girls' Getaway Weekend - First weekend in November
